Our First Floating Breakfast!!

Kamandalu Villa

I believe Kamandalu Villa is no stranger to you. Popular with its traditional-contemporary luxurious style and floating breakfast, this location has been checked in by thousands of people every day. What makes Kamandalu different from other luxurious villa is that they prepared a lot of insta-worthy activities for the guests to enjoy. Besides floating breakfast, they also provide forest dining and boat dining. If you would like to reserve any of theses activities, you need to reserve and pay few days in advance before your stay.

Their pool is kinda deep for a shortie like me. My feet could not touch the base at all. I was just sitting at the ledge throughout the entire breakfast time haha. The view was amazing as it overlooks Ubud's terraced hillside and the morning fog gave us a mysterious and romantic feel.

ALWAYS TAKE THE FIRST TIME SLOT for your floating breakfast if your breakfast was to be served in public pool. (as pool villa guests will have their breakfast in their private pool). Just let the staff know what time you want to be there.
Ultimately it is all for that pictures, am I right? :p

Get Cleansed By Holy Spring Water

Pura Tirta Empul

Our first stop in Ubud -  Pura Tirta Empul. This temple is famous for its holy spring water, where Balinese Hindus go to for ritual purification. Before visiting there, we were so excited to have a dip in the sacred springs. However the reality is always different from instagram, it was so crowded! Honestly we did not mind the crowd at all but people taking photoshoots in the pool just ruined the entire atmosphere. We thought the experience was supposed to be holy and sacred. We only stayed here for no more than 1 hour.

If you'd ever visit here, I would still recommend you to come and experience it! (and let me know how it feels like!) There are fishes swimming in the pool so becareful where you step!

Price: 30K IDR/pax (SGD 2.7/ MYR 8.1)

Get Lost In The Perfect Terraced Rice Fields

Tenggallalang Rice Field

I have been here twice, and it still made my jaw dropped! You do not have worry about human-body jam in this huge rice terrace because people are spreaded out everywhere. One more best thing is that this attraction is FREE (yay) but a small donation is required however not mandatory. The field trails for walking are quite small and slippery so walk carefully if you happen to come on raining day. We were so tempted to try the swing but we decided to keep the adrenaline pump for Bali Swing.

Traditional Village With A Modern Touch

Penglipuran Village

Penglipuran Villageis a highland village with well-preserved culture and unique village layout.  It is situated in Bangli which is 1 hour drive from Ubud. The reason we added this to our itinerary is because we couldnt find much its information/images from the internet hence we decided to explore this place ourselves. Partially also because we have been to most of the places around Ubud central during our previous trip. We did not spot any overseas tourists here at all but a lot of local tourists instead.

Walking a little bit further, we found ourselves ending up in a bamboo forest which sheltered us from the scorching heat outside.

Price: 30K IDR (SGD 2.7/MYR 8.1)

Visiting The Home Of Monkeys

Monkey Forest

Monkey Forest is a perfect place to end your day. The natural park sanctuary is gorgeous with temples and monkeys spotted everywhere. You were required to remove any big earrings or any accessories/food that monekeys may snatch away. Admire them with caution because they are really smart and may be aggresive if you activate their defense mechanism. When taking a close shot of them be cautious that they may grab/scratch your lens out of curiosity.

It was a calm walk in the evening and brings us all the 'Zen' feelings.

The staff was helping the visitors to get a 'selfie shot' with the monkeys by luring them with food.

Price: 50K IDR (SGD 4.5/MYR 13.5)

Swinging Into Wanderlust

Bali Swing

Bali Swing, a place where your instagram pictures can never go wrong. Entrance fee for this attraction is not cheap. It is priced at USD 35 however it consists of various facilities (no limit of how many times you play) and lunch buffet. This adult playground consists facilities of 12 single swings, 6 nests, helicopter on the abyss, heart rock, huge stone, river waterfall and swimming pool. All staffs here are polite and well-trained in helping you to get the perfect shots.

GIRLS, if you are coming here, make sure you wear a SUPER LONG AND FLOWY DRESS and you will thank me later!

Price: SGD 48.3/pax (MYR 144.9)

All For That One Coconut Tree

Campuhan Ridge Walk

Campuhan ridge walk is a relaxing trekking spot in Ubud central. To complete the entire trekking it takes around 2 hours. This place is really hot when we visited in the late afternoon. I believe it would be more enjoyable to come in the morning or evening. Bring a lot of water, sunscreen and insects repellants! You will see the iconic coconut tree during your first 30minutes of walk so don't miss it out!

Temple, temple, temple....

Goa Gajah

Goa Gajah, which means elephant caves does not contain elephant at all. Probably the name comes from the elephant-looking carving at the temple entrance. This place is no any special as compared to other temples in Ubud, rock-wall carvings...bathing fountains etc. What attracted our eyes are this gigantic tree with its prominent roots spreading over the ground. This guy must have lived here for centuries!

Price: 15K IDR (SGD 1.3/MYR 3.9)

The Most Fancy Flower Spa In Our Lives

Fiveelements Spa

Fiveelements Spa is the fist name that popped up when I search for best spa in Ubud. This spa is an award-winning wellness retreats which provides authentic baliness healing treatments. We come here purely for their beauty spa because we could not afford their massage treatments haha. What I love most is that the spa ingredients are all from natural resources such as fresh petals, leaves, bark, roots, seeds, nuts and fruits. However their spa tub is kinda small for two and I believe their own villa guests get a bigger tub which is kinda unfair because we paid for that too!

Nonetheless, I sweated so much during the bath (partly because ginger tea was served too) and I felt so refreshed after being sick in Bali since day 1. HP did not enjoy the spa at all because all he thought was that I was crazy to spend that much to take a pretty shower haha but truth to say I would not come back here for the second time because it was not worth the money.

A Gate To Heaven

Pura Lempuyang Luhur

We planned a half day trip out of Ubud during our last day to Pura Lempuyang Luhur and we were so glad we did. Pura Lempuyang Luhur is about 2 hours drive from Ubud, so in order to get to this attraction early in the morning, we travelled and stayed in this area last night. There are 'shuttle lorries' which brought us to the entrance up in the mountain. Sari are required for all visitors and scrafs will be provided for cover up if you are wearing sleeveless.

Impressive sight of towering dragon staircases. There are 3 staricases and the middle one is prohibited from walking as it is meant for rituals purposes.

We received so many DMs from our friends regarding this picture-perfect photo but SORRY FRIENDS, you guys will be disappointed. Funny thing was that initially we thought we came to the wrong place because we did not see any water reflection! It was so much different from the images we bookmarked from Instagram. Little did we know the effect was from this local guy who was holding a mirror perpendicular to the camera lens.

We had enormous fun feeding the big fat fishes

Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga is only 30 minutes away from Pura Lempuyang Luhur. It is a former royal palace and the lavish water garden is what makes it so famous. Beside than taking a morning stroll in this beautiful garden, the best activity to do here is fish feeding. Fish food can be purchased at 5k rupiah at the entrance.

I got kinda phobia by just looking at the amount of fishes swimming in the pool. There are so many of them and all of them are humungous! Well-fed by tourists everyday haha. Imagine they are all piranha, it gets kinda scary right?

Price: 30K IDR (SGD 2.7/MYR 8.1)

Our dream wedding location

Ujung Water Palace

Ujung Water Palace is another stunning former palace in Karangasem Regency. The architecture here are a mixure balinese and european style. Nothing really fancy here however there are some spectacular spots to take pictures such as the rustic-looking poles at the top of the garden. This palace is so pretty that we both think it is so perfect location for a wedding. The staircases can be the aisle! What do you think? ;p

Price: 35K IDR (SGD 3.1/MYR 9.3)

Getting More 'Zen' Vibes On The Last Day

Saraswati Temple

Saraswati temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of learning, literature and art. This temple is very accesible as it is located right in the Ubud centre, just right beside Starbucks. The charm of this temple comes from the blossoming lotus pond and the dance performaces at night.

'How Many Rattan Bag Can I Squeeze Into My Luggage?'

Ubud Market

Ubud Market is no any difference from other market in touristy area. Besides selling all arts and crafts, I love shopping for the rattan bags! Navigating among a sea of similar stalls was not easy because once you asked the price the shop owner will not let you go until you purchase! So what I did was to always pretend walking away after asking price! and then nagotiate reasonably! Try not to negotiate too much because they are earning hard to make a living as well.

We had Naughty Nuri's pork ribs as lunch and it was good! However it got a bit 'jelat' so it would be better to share with someone. The price was quite cheap. We ordered a pork rib, salad and an orange juice,it costed us about 50k IDR.

We hope you enjoy this post and find this informative for your next trip planning! Do check out 'gallery' if you wish to see the full album!

We can't wait to show you guys on our next adventures!
