Watching sunrise with SingaMerlion Park
Merlion (half fish and half lion) which siginfies Singapore's humble history as fishing village and its original name as Singapura (Singa: Lion in Malay).
The Merlion standing tall at 8.6m sprouting water from its mouth remains as the most iconic landmark to see in Singapore. There is another cub statue situated in the park as well. There are total 5 official merlion statues in Singapore, two at Merlion Park, the rest are at Sentosa, Singapore Tourism Board HQ and Mt Faber. Across the bay you will see the magnificient Singapore Flyer Art Museum, and Marina Bay Hotel.
Come here early in the morning for the impressive sunrise skyline or night to witness the Merlion shines in great lights. Avoid coming here in late morning and afternoon because the tourist swarms are crazy.
Direction: Alight at Raffles Place Mrt and follow exit signage to UOB bank. Once you exit walk behind Fullerton Hotel, cross the road and you will see signage directing to the park.
